We are happy to share that we recently inaugurated 10 new units at our Delhi Centre. The Shree Jeewan Vinoo ChildCare Centre, which started in July 2022 with nine units, can now care for 19 families.
The inauguration was graced by Dr. Sabherwal and his family, Ms. Manisha Parthasarathy (Chairperson St. Judes), Mr. Pradeep Puri (Team Leader, St. Judes Delhi), our Team Members, staff and families.
Located in Jeewan Nagar, the space for this centre has been provided to us by Dr. Satinder Sabherwal, who has given a wing of the premises in his hospital—Shree Jeewan Hospital—in memory of his son, Dr. Vinendra Sabherwal, who passed away during the pandemic.
The inauguration ceremony started with a warm welcome, followed by a heartfelt prayer beautifully sung by our mothers, setting the tone for the event. Dr. Sabherwal and Mr. Pradeep Puri then took the stage to share some words of encouragement with everyone. After the speeches, Dr. Sabherwal, accompanied by his family, proceeded to light the ceremonial lamp and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new units officially.
St Judes facility in Delhi has six centres and provides free-of-cost accommodation and holistic care to 61 children. Children from all over the country, who are undergoing treatment at AIIMS, Delhi stay at our Delhi centres. The first four centres were launched in 2013 and are all located in Noida. These centres look after 42 children and their families. The other two centres are located in the capital city and look after 19 children and their families.
