Why Donate to St. Judes?

St. Jude India ChildCare Centres provides a ‘home away from home’ for children undergoing cancer treatment.

These underprivileged children have no choice but to travel from rural parts of the country to metros and big cities where high-quality cancer treatment is available. At St. Judes, they get a ‘home away from home’ which is a hygienic, protective, nurturing environment that gives the
children the best chance of beating cancer.

St. Judes creates a community for our families, who come from all over India, speak different languages and represent all communities, but share the common goal of getting their child treated for cancer.

St Judes currently has 45 Centres with 547 family units in 11 cities: Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai, Vellore, Guwahati, Delhi, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam and
Muzaffarpur.

St. Jude has made “The Guide to Childhood Cancer” that is a great resource for anyone who has a child undergoing treatment. No, children and their families are referred to us by social workers at the treatment hospitals. The social workers explain the St. Jude model and ensure the family is prepared for their stay at St. Jude, and then we are able to admit the child, provided we have a unit available.
Sorry, but we have no affiliation to this organization and we cannot be of any help in getting you an appointment.
No, St. Jude is not affiliated with any religion. St. Jude is a secular organization that has been named after St. Jude who is the patron saint of lost causes. Families from every background are welcomed at our centres.
Cancer treatment takes several months, where the child receives chemotherapy once or twice a month as an outpatient or inpatient but is not admitted to hospital the remainder of the days. Usually families spend 6-8 months to complete their child’s treatment but depending on the case sometimes they can stay as long as two years. The duration of stay is decided by the treating doctors.
While we welcome visitors, visits are by PRIOR APPOINTMENT only. Our children’s safety, security and wellbeing is our first priority. Kindly send an email to contact@stjudechild.org letting us know the purpose of your visit and someone will get back to you.
